How to Clean a TV/Computer Screen

How to Clean a TV

  • Dust the TV first
Lightly dust the front and back of the TV before wiping. This prevents debris from scratching the screen.
  • Use a clean microfiber cloth
Make sure the cloth has no stickers, grit, or crusty bits. Anything textured can scratch the screen.
  • Dampen the cloth—not the TV
Fold the microfiber cloth and spray a small amount of glass cleaner onto the cloth only. Never spray directly on the TV.
  • Wipe side to side
Use the damp cloth to clean the screen in smooth side‑to‑side motions.
  • Clean the frame
Make a “frame motion” around the edges of the TV to remove fingerprints and dust.
  • Check for streaks or missed spots
Look from different angles to catch streaks or smudges.
  • Fix streaks properly
Use the damp part of the cloth to re‑wipe the streaked area, then buff dry with a clean, dry microfiber cloth.
  • Remove stuck‑on spots gently
Apply very light pressure with the damp part of the cloth and rub softly until the spot lifts.
  • CAUTION: Use minimal pressure
    Pressing too hard can:
  • break pixels
  • create dark patches
  • discolor the screen
  • cause white pressure marks
Soft, repeated motions are all that’s needed.
