How to Clean Stair Rails
- For maintenance cleans
Dust the stair rails first and spot clean any visibly dirty areas. - For deep cleans
Dust the entire rail system before hand‑cleaning. - Prepare your cleaning solution
Use a bucket of water mixed with Dawn dish soap or Murphy’s Oil Soap, depending on the material and finish. - Wash every part of the rail
Use a lightly damp microfiber cloth to wash: - all poles/spindles
- the handrail
- the rail base
Work methodically so nothing is missed. - Clean from top to bottom
Start at the top of the staircase and work your way down so dust and drips don’t fall onto areas you’ve already cleaned.
