Replacing Your Cleaning Tools
- All employees are provided with the tools needed to succeed
Every cleaner receives the equipment and supplies required to perform their job safely and effectively. - You are responsible for caring for your tools
All tools and equipment are loaned to you. It is your responsibility to keep them clean, stored properly, and handled with care. - Normal wear and tear is expected
Tools naturally wear out over time. When a tool reaches the end of its life, management will replace it—no issue at all. - Excessive or frequent replacements will be reviewed
If management notices that you are replacing the same tool more often than normal wear and tear would allow, a conversation will be held.
In some cases, the employee may be charged for new tools if misuse or neglect is the cause. - Take care of your equipment so it lasts
- Feather duster: Use gently—do not mash, twist, or scrub with it.
- Sponges, grout brushes, scrub pads: Use them until they are truly worn out or falling apart.
- All tools: Store them properly, keep them clean, and avoid rough handling.
- Well‑cared‑for tools last a long time
Proper care protects your equipment, reduces replacements, and keeps your work efficient and professional.
