My vacuum is not working, what do I do…
Vacuum Breakdown Protocol
1. Flip + Peek -keep vacuum running to check if roller is working
Tilt the vacuum back just enough to visually check:
• Brush roll
- Check suction at the handle -see where the no suction is coming from
2. Stop + Unplug
A single motion: hand to plug → pull → set cord aside.
- Check all your openings for a clog
- Open bottom of vacuum
- Detach polls
- Detach body of vacuum from base of vacuum
- Detach handle and hose
- Take a peek inside each section look for clog
- Take unclogging tool and use it where necessary
3. Check Dirt Canister
Open:
• Canister
• Filter housing
• Hose connection
If anything looks full or blocked → remove and shake once.
4. Swap + Continue
If it still won’t start:
• Move vacuum aside
• Go look for clients vacuum or ask client for their vacuum
• Resume cleaning path without pausing to troubleshoot further
5. When to report vacuum not working
:
• Contact office right away if your vacuum still does not work, you can’t find client’s vacuum or client vacuum not working either -Office will bring you a back up vacuum
• If you use the client’s vacuum and the job is done. Report your vacuum when you clock out of job
